We have endeavoured to focus on day ticket fisheries where it is possible to get a days fishing on one of Britain's best chalkstreams at a relatively affordable price, without the need of joining a syndicate. It is nigh on impossible to inform you of every single beat and fishing provider in existence on Hampshire's chalkstreams, so we apologise if some are missed out. The company Fishing Breaks owned and run by Simon Cooper arguably has access to the widest range of fly fishing in Hampshire including 9 beats on the River Test and tributaries and 3 beats on the Itchen.

Lower Itchen Fishery

The Lower Itchen located outside Southampton is a day ticket fishery on the Itchen offering not only Trout fishing but also Salmon and Sea Trout in season. The fishery was founded in 1954 and is around 5,300 yards long which makes it the longest continuous stretch of the River Itchen in private ownership.

Winchester City Council

Winchester City Council owns a stretch of the Itchen and free fishing is allowed between the two weirs in the city centre. The council also allows fishing on the Itchen Navigation immediately south of Winchester from the left bank between Blackbridge and St Catherine's Lock.

Orvis Day Lettings

Day lets on the Itchen at Abbots Worthy and Test at Kimbridge and Timsbury can be organised through the American Fishing company Orvis. The fishing can be booked both through their website www.orvis.co.uk and also by visiting their store in Stockbridge.

Sporting Choice is a sporting agency based in the Test Valley and as well as offering both clay and game shooting they also offer access to fishing on the River Avon, Bourne, and Test at very reasonable prices.

Christchurch and District Angling Association

This Angling Association has access to some very famous Salmon and Trout fishing on the Hampshire Avon, and they offer day tickets.

The Rod Box in Kings Worthy has established a large portfolio of fishing on the Itchen and Test and offers days, half, and full season rods. This shop also has an excellent selection of fly tackle and the employees really know their stuff.

Broadlands

The famous Broadlands Estate on the River Test offers Salmon and Sea Trout fishing on the main river and Brown Trout fishing on the main river plus a carrier stream.

Petersfield & DIstrict Angling Club

The PDAC have access to a number of beats on the River Rother that can be fished for coarse (the club revolves around coarse fishing) but also for trout and grayling in season too. You must join their club (about £30 a year) to have unlimited access to these beats.
